…and once again my brain got fixated on all the political insanity that continues to swirl around us every day. Now I know it’s easy to take cheap shots at politicians, and to accuse them of being nothing more than power-hungry, self-aggrandizing egomaniacs out to make a buck from the public trough and not caring one bit about the people they allegedly serve.

But perhaps that’s harsh. Perhaps I should keep “Hanson’s Razor” in mind…

“Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

Hmmmmmmm… What do you think. Malice? Or just Stupidity?

    I suspect that in some cases, minimal intelligence is complicated by willful ignorance. However, “stupid” isn’t the right term for those who break nine out of ten commandments, publicly commit all seven deadly sins, and urge others to practice violence.

    This is neither stupidity nor malice. It is self-serving. They support programs they believe will get them the most votes and blindly accept the most optimistic projections about possible outcomes and costs without analysis or validation.
